Brief from client
Create a logo for use on signage, biz cards, vehicle graphics, etc for a small, family owned pet grooming, boarding and playcare company. (customer favors a rich purple for their company colors, but initial design is shown here in only black and white)

I think you could convey the idea of the letters having a tail without the need for the little kitty and puppy, which sort of cheapens the look.
You probably don't need two tails either. A single tail, forming from the lowercase g underlining the letters, with a classier font would do this idea justice. :)
I agree with the above and also there is just too much going on, keep your logo simple and clever but ensuring it displays what the client is all about. One last thing, rich purple makes me think sophistication and class so maybe try something with that :)
I like the intention behind this logo but there's too much going on. The dog doesn't really look like a dog with that W.
I like Waffles idea about just having one tail. It'll convey the message just as well while keeping your logo simple.
Keep it up.
