Brief from client
Personal logo for myself when I do freelance work. I wanted a logo that includes my Initials (CMJ) and some symbol that would indicate I am a graphic designer (thus, the cursor and the C and J somewhat resemble brackets on a keyboard).
The yellow is not set in stone. It only intent is to set off the cursor from the rest of the logo. Im still exploring my options when it comes to coloring the logo. The only difference between version 1 and 2 is the heaviness of the M.

I did not see the C and J, and the arrow did not look like a cursor.
Pro tip: try to leave some white space around your logo, so it's not so "in your face" =)
Like my bud Mahayni here, I didn't see the C and J at all. The M is so the main focus of this logo that it kills the rest.
The yellow arrow doesn't look like a cursor at all. It's juts an arrow pointing south. Some may see some kind of sexual symbolism there =)
If there was a criteria for composition, I would green thumb it, because I appreciate the even space between all the element.
Unfortunately, I don't think this logo works in the end.
Good luck!
The C & J are easy to see. Not sure why the other 2 comments can't see them.
Without any briefing, the C & J is not obvious. You may show the logo to anyone without briefing and ask what do they read.
I agree, I didn't get the C and J until I read the brief. I couldn't figure out why you were pointing at an M. I also think initials are a weak idea for a logo unless you are UPS, FBI, CIA...it says nothing about what you do.
