I think it's a start. I think what bothers me the most is that the text doesn't fit the circle. And I would experiment with other fonts. That R looks really odd.
Maybe choose a different focus for your logo, too. As a designer, you really want this to stand out. It seems like circle + text. Try to design something more unique or representative of you. Just as an example, instead of a swirly ring of color, what if those colors were petals swirling around a flower? Again, just an example to get the creative juices flowing. Designer logos require some out of the box thinking.
Sorry but although the overall appearance is pleasant-ish I just dont think it works.
This idea has been done tons of times before and pretty much all the other examples i see of this idea of overlapping colours and shapes look better than yours I'm afraid.
I think you need to start again by thinking up a new idea

For me it looks like a logo for washing powder...
Globally, it feels rushed and devoid of any research and sketching.
