Becareful, the feather is a symbol commonly associated with writers rather than designers.
I like the idea, and the symbol... but try a diferent type to the design word... and diferent colors
The word "design" really disappears here- it's too thin, too dark of a color to pop out of the dark gray. I don't hate the feather idea, but it is something we see a lot, and like Shawali mentioned it's sometimes more of a writer symbol than a designer symbol. I'd also play around with other fonts for the DP- it's so thick and plain. Choose a few others and see how they look!
