Elementary school t-shirt

Brief from client
They wanted a design that was kid-friendly but that adults would want to wear.
There is way too much going on here for me. That inner circle of acorns muddies it up. If you are trying to get a flower out of the design, maybe do just the outer ring of acorns and a stem with the 2015 vertical? I don't know.. it makes me dizzy
But seriously, make sure they have full color screen printing in the budget for shirts. Most schools I work with, getting a white underbase is usually a money fight.
Since I actually create and prep files for screenprinting myself, I can say with certainty that this would indeed be a very expensive shirt. It looks like an 11 color design, minimum. That's assuming you use opacities for the acorn shapes, and layer them carefully. But yeah, this is far too complicated. The text looks like it was an afterthought to the design, as it is much smaller and uses a font that feels disconnected to the acorn wheel thing.
With the font I was trying to balance the kids with the adults using a more "mature" font. But I can see how they clash. I was in CMYK mode; totally wasn't thinking about the screen printing aspect. Thanks for the comments.
Please, I´m not a designer, I have an embroidery business. It´s a school logo, eventually they will need that logo in school clothes. That´s an imposible design for embroider. (sorry for my english!)
pbordados, this was not commissioned as a school logo; they have a logo. Only a t-shirt for the 2015-16 year. If that case ever arises I will point that out.
I like a general idea behind a symbol, even thought normally I'm not a supporter of a perfectly symmetrical round shape - but in this case for a unity sake ( that is what logo says to me ) it is working here. I want to suggest that if you only use an outline instead of filling an acorn with color - that would make dollar sense for a printing purposes. T-shirts would look awesome and kids would love that! Great job on a symbol. Try a different font to compliment a logo. Try in a soft gray. Good luck to you!

Hope they budgeted for 30 color screen printing!

I would print that on a heat transfer material, however there is too much going on, and the font isn't kid's friendly
It does however look like font that a Elementary school would use.

reducing/removing the color is definitely being explored. Great suggestions, thanks
