The purpose of this monogram logo is to show the company's initials which can be used for multiple applications where only this icon can be seen instead of the entire company name.

As a monogram it looks ok, but don't expect anyone to read FBL in there.
I tend to think that playing around with the initial of the brand name is just the easy way, the first thing any beginner would do.
I like how the 'L' creates a 3D effect. However, I didn't see the FBL until I noted the brand name. I wonder if you could come up with another way to build the F into the B. As it is, the gap between the two mounds of the B make it a bit hard to figure out. With a company name like "Flashing Blinky Lights" you could probably get away with a much less conventional logo than this one. But it's a good start (says this layman).
For a company called Flashing Blinky Lights, this isn't very fun. :)
You would think their logo would be off the wall.
