Brief from client
Visual Identity logo for and to promote Festival of the Cranes held by Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge Association.
Logo must be eye eye-catching and legible. Logo must have a Crane theme with at least one Sandhill and/ or Whooping Crane. Must look good in color and in black and white.
I started over from scratch since I received so many negative comments on my last one. Limited it to two fonts. Tried to Simplify, but it's very hard since the logo has a lot of words in incorporate. All art is mine, from this logo and the first one.

Since there is so much going on thanks to the words you cannot remove I would suggest going with just one crane. Two is just making this way too complicated. You don't need a full crane or an interactive one either, even just a crane head silhouette in an oval could do wonders for this.
You may need to get creative with all of that text. Actually, I think you need to get less creative. Maybe just stack Festival on one line, and the other part on another. There is so much to read, don't make it more complicated than it needs to be with bars and big caps.
I think it needs to be simple and clean. This is really all you need:

I think this is an improvement over the last one, but it's still not there.
I agree with unterm rad. Beware that bar beneath F makes look like an E, which gives the feeling of reading Eestival.
