Brief from client
Logo for small construction firm - Client wanted a simple & easy to read logo.
The client insisted on using a house image though I tried to steer them clear of it as it's overused.

i think u should try to elaborate more on the house try not to use gradient but the overoll its good its my opnion :)
If your client insists on a house graphic, not much you can do.
This will work and they will be happy.
Remove the gradient and use a solid gray so they can easily stamp a decal on their trucks.
I hope when your client is ready to compete against the big guys he asks you to design a new logo. This time the first requirement is going to be "make it unique".
if thats what your client wants, work a bit more on that icon and you should be set
I would show your client an image search of "house logos" on google.
I think they will want something more unique after that.
