Gamer Dragon

Brief from client

This is a logo I designed intended to be for a video game developing company. It is suppose to resemble a dragon with a set of buttons you would find on a old-fashion controller.

This is merely a thumbnail drawing. The media I used for it was colored pencils. It was made solely for you guys to critique, see what you thought, and find what I could improve on.

I would suggest creating a vectored version complete with typography if necessary before uploading. It's hard to critique a doodle...

The idea is not bad, but the current shape and colors are not working. It's not clear it's a dragon, nor can I make out the controller.

You wouldn't find a set of buttons anything similar to this on ANY old controller. If that's what you're going for, the Directional arrows (with no button in the middle of them) need to go on the left wing, and A B buttons on the right wing.

I definitely agree with above though, in doing an actual vectored rendering before uploading so we can actually see the direction you're headed. This isn't much to go by. Nothing positive right now anyway.

Look i respect you guys.. But come on! It's obvious this is a hint at the Nintendo 64 controller which he meant by " similar to an old controller".

As for the doodle; I would try this with a flat design. And try to find a balance between keeping it smooth and fat to hint at the classic controller. I would recommend using velvet red as the dominating color. Try slapping a sans serif font underneath and see what happens!
