Brief from client 

From the name, you can tell we are carrying on the alcohol theme. I'd love to see a logo that would be iconic with the name or acronym GoR. It should be polished and fit well in with other gaming news sites.

I think it works, but the ON THE should be same weight. Simplify.

I don't find this very imaginative.
Now you have your text splashing drink inside a glass.
How about... you drop 3 ice cubes and some bubbles in that glass with every word in a different cube and get rid of the GOTR acronym?
