Global Logistix

Brief from client

This is one of three that the client liked. This is what they wanted to represent their forwarding company to show that it is a global forwarding agent and also with the Africa continent facing front shows where the company is run.

Designed to capture the fact that it is a global forwarding company and by facing the African continent to the front it shows where the company originated from. This is my first new design from scratch for a client as a PVT designer and not through a company. Would like to see reviews from other designers whether its good or bad, it all will be much appreciated.

Looks like you are designing for a fairly unimaginative group over there...

If they are insisting on a globe, not much you can do. I will say that the colors you chose are different. Which is good. So I'll give the symbol a thumbs up for that. Though, the continents are coming off of the sphere. Hard to tell at this size if it's intentional.

I don't think the font works. The alignment is poor. If it's at all possible to get rid of some of the SAPtyLtdSouthAfrica mess- then do so. South Africa is way too small.. Not sure about the wacky spelling of Logistics.. why they went to all the trouble of having a boring name and idea for their symbol and then get wacky there... seems odd. But, I guess that's not yr problem.

Think a bit on the size ratio between mark and text as well as placement. This will be a bit forgettable, but you can make it look nice and please the client.

Good luck- Hope this helps.

Thank you. They wanted the continents to look like it's lifted of the sphere, something like a "globe puzzle" where the continents stands out from the sphere. I did suggest that the wording is going to be too small and too much specially when it comes to branding on like stationary and stuff. As for the wacky spelling, apparently "Logistics" was already taken and they couldn't use it so they changed it to Logistix. I have taken out all the small lettering and only left the SA as they wanted it to be there. Will play around with ratio and placement. Thank you.

Instead of using black to lift it of the sphere use a darker green

Uneducated clients with a questionable visual standards are the mothers of a many grotesque logo failures thru the history.
Even when used in one color for ease of reproduction a globe was a pretty mediocre and unimaginative solution for an icon. Forwarding agents use their logo on a bunch of stuff, duct tapes, packing boxes, vehicle decals, etc.
Reproducing a full color globe with gradients on everything is going to cost them an arm and a leg and it will look like shit in most cases.
Your composition is pretty messy and typography execution not very good.
I think this needs a lot of re-working.
