Thank you so much for the critique; much appreciated. The goal--which, unfortunately doesn't seem to have translated--was to create a simple two letter logo. I would love to use 'white space' to create a logo with "G" and "S" -- any advice would be incredibly helpful. Thanks again!
ok, round letters are a good idea for practice and messing with letters for a beginner, but if you want to make a final logo with this...no chance.
The logo is overwhelming and claoustrophobic, two circles, closed one into the other, bad idea.
Also the curves and sharp angles do not make a good pair here, is not about mazes is about sports, make it friendly.
S proportions are off, overall readablility is avarage. Letters gotta come together seamlessly, in you logo they seem to have some conflicts.
If you want to keep that idea of round "s" in "g" you can go and play with the negative space inside "g". Also a good idea is to knot the letters, you can obtain something better and more dynamic.
Sketch a lot, helluva lot, before you go in any digital stuff to make the logo.
i see you changed the pic of the logo instead of uploading another. this is not recommended because we lose track of your versions and you may lose some valuable opinions. Or we may just look like idiots giving feedback for things that are not there.
To be on topic with current version you updated, don't just type the letters and put them in different positions, draw them, play with letter anatomy, form, shape. No program will make this for you.
Hey Shawali, again, thank you so much for the feedback; it means a lot--especially for someone starting a small business with limited experience in this kind of stuff.
You're welcome, always a pleasure to help someone out.
But you shouldn't have changed the your logo there. Our comments don't make much sense now. And this new thing isn't working at all while the original one had much more potential.
This just does not give me a "sports" feel. I think you should study some sports logos, maybe even look at "logos with initials." No shame at all in looking to others work for inspirations! But definitely start with some sketching- it is incredibly beneficial to working out a good logo idea.

The stripes in this logo are quite jarring. The "S" isn't as easy to read, either.
There's also no company name in the logo, either. I would consider developing this as well.

Hueroth, very, very helpful critique! I'm going to play around with everything, keeping your comments in mind. Thank you.

not sure i like the S inside the G...overall it reminds me of the packers logo
Thank you darkreixor, I was fearful of the same thing; will revise accordingly.
I won't be as critical as my buddies. I think this could make a great monogram.
Right now it's not really working, mainly for the reasons given in the above comments.
I'd like see a smaller version of this, so it's not so much "in your face". Let it breath with leaving some white space around it.
This is still in the rough stages, but you can definitely work something out. The basic idea is good.
Not a fan of the colors though. This combination is very dull.
Based on this idea, start sketching on paper to very organically find the best way to make it look good.
Keep it up!

This logo looks like a cheap perfume brand =)
