Brief from client
Graphic Design Firm
I wanted something that was simple but incorporated some technical qualities that related to design and printing.
Racealistic is right. There are thousands upon thousands of printing press/graphic design related companies which use the CMYK color code and the registration marks. These elements have became hallmarks of non creativity.
Don't confuse a simple design, which is good, with a simplistic one, which you should avoid at all cost. The simplest logos are most of the time the hardest to achieve.
Simplistic logos are generally done in a few minutes, without any research of sketching and done by either inexperienced designers who think they hit gold right away or just a plain lazy ones. I should know, I've been both of these, back in the day =)
As others have said - there is nothing individual/unique/interesting about this design, to be blunt. The typeface is bland and the CMYK is over-done. The O also appears to be a C at first glance. I would definitely suggest scrapping this and start from scratch. Don't get discouraged, we're all here to help you progress.

You can look on this website. The first page of ideas has another CMYK simple print logo.
I don't recall seeing many registration marks in logos though, so that is something.
Also, using Illustrator's default font setting "Myriad" is about the laziest thing I can think of. Literally ANYTHING would have been more effort.
