Brief from client
Client wanted a woodsy, outdoor feel to replace their existing text logo for their packaging label on fry mixes.
Packaging is in clear plastic containers and the product itself is a light brown granular colour. Logo colours compliment the product keeping with the brown tones.
You cannot get any more 'woodsy' than actual wood - so a clip-arty whimsical forest was inserted to add some interest.
The typography needed to be clean, easy to read and not too rigid. A sylized font was used to create the overall effect of the outdoors.

Here is the 'before' logo image taken from their packaging
You're going to die a slow death when this gets printed. Those drop shadows and the background blend will cause you nothing but trouble. I like the tree graphic and the font, but the capital letters are very squished and not spaced well enough. You may want to try to move each individual letter vertically to get rid of that problem. It may be a nice effect. You have a nice start here, keep going with it!
Logo reminds me of a horror movie set in New England.
Maybe, it works for a posh, upmarket product. Else, I think the product is not fun. I'd chain up some bright green http://www.brandsoftheworld.com/logo/spar-2 fir trees without the circle, creamy yellows ...
I like the general dynamic ot this one, http://www.brandsoftheworld.com/logo/spar-tops , without the idiotic font.
If you want something woodsy, whack a brown log or tree trunk or two with visible annual rings below.
The idea is nice. It reminds me of one of those cartoon title screens. The tree should be sharper for that font. Simplify it. Also don't use gradients or else it will be a pain when used in printing and such. Try to keep it as simple as you can. The font is wacky and i like it but remove the shadow.
