Brief from client
It's an internet webstore which sells nice objects of decoration, gifts, cool books, posters, collectives, and everything that is nice looking for the house.
Special Requirements:
It must be a PUG in a PINK UNICORN costume. Candy colors or Pastel colors. Nice, classy and cute. Name included.
this is a contest logo that ive done.. i spent quite a bit of time drawing the symbol but wasnt sure how to incorporate the text into it. One thing about the brief that i really dont get is why they want a pug (dog) in a pink unicorn outfit when they sell nice objects for the house?! but hey each to their own i guess!

I like it a lot except the lines on the costume are a little messy. Can you straighten them out in illustrator?
Also, maybe its just me but the logo seems too big. Perhaps make it a little bit smaller in comparison to the text.
My personal approach would be to a 3 colour icon, something nice and simple. 2 shades of brown and 1 pink. Lots of space between the shapes too..
I have a lot of trouble when it comes to anything with a face, as its so hard and time consuming to get just the right expression you want it to have. My way of dealing with this, is to just makes loads and loads of variations, pick the ones I like, then delete the rest. Then repeat this pattern.
Since its a nice and friendly logo, you should avoid any sharp corners at all. This is something people will pick up on subconsciously.
Hope this helps, all just rules I would use.
I love this little guy- tits on toast if you ask me. (The look on his face is perfect in my opinion- bewildered but still somehow adorable!) As far as how to incorporate the text... that's a really good question that I'm afraid I have no good answer for. But that symbol is lovely! :)
I love it.
Maybe the dog face is a bit too detailed but fear not, for you can have it as the kinda "deluxe" version of the logo while having a simplified one for day to day uses.
thanks for all the feedback :) ive submitted this design now so fingers crossed they like it!
