The very first thing that popped into my mind when I saw this was a tricked out swastika. But that's just me having a western European point of view =)
All in all, if your aim was to keep it simple and classy, I think you made it.
The font might be a bit too old looking for my taste.
As usual, good job. Not you're greatest logo, but it still works.
In a symbol I see three " L's " with a dash.
Is that really the first thing you saw?
I think the symbol holds together well. As Shawali pointed out, there's a disconnect between symbol and text. A more related font might help here.
Heck, I wouldn't mind if the symbol separated the two names. Might be a good break from the conventional symbol-over-words formula.
