I do too, but the O still bothers me.I also don't like how the bars touch the O, but no other letter touches the gold.

I also worry this relies too much on special effects, and when removed it wouldn't hold together on its own as well.

The "L" touches the gold to... I tried it in solid colors and worked pretty good to.

I prefer this version. Just me personally, I would like it more if it were all solid (no textures, gradients, etc.) And if you put a break between the bars and the letters the same width to match the break above the D.
