Brief from client
Logo for a Construction Company.
Client wanted a clean yet noticeable look without using bold, brash text as often seen in construction company logos.
What's different about this company? Why do they refuse to give the public what the public is used to consume?
If they develop sky scrappers then I think they are in the right direction with this logo. If they do masonry, houses, or general contraction, then I think this is not the way to say "pick me!"
I agree with luenib, oftentimes we obliged to put in the client's head one thing what he don't want, but, that will be more usable.
About your work, I think your idea contrary to what you wanted to represent, it seems more that the piece is coming out than going inside, the typography that makes no mention to any branch and a caption that does not seem subtitle, but something that is sticking out when it should not.
Graphic mark is a generic nonsense. This would look better as a simple word mark.
However.... this kind of typography is not really a good choice for a construction company.
You need to re-think this and come up with a better solution.

Not sure about the symbol.. it says "we think outside of the box!" Which isn't what you want your construction company to be doing : P
I think there is a difference in brash type and solid type~ I would go with solid type.
Symbol and text should give a feel of solid foundation.
The colors work well though.
