Brief from client
Start up bakery and sweets catering- cakes, cupcakes, cookies etc etc
Trying to avoid cakes, cake plates, icing blobs etc- thought to use a pretty apron. Like this loose illustration style- will post a more straight forward version in comments. Not final on color yet. Lemme have it!!!
I like the abstract apron instead of cliche cakes, rolling pin etc. Gives it a homemade feel to the logo along with your almost pastel colours.
The first one in my opinion is far too busy as is, but I do love the apron with the more abstract outline overlay - nice! So if you keep that symbol maybe try pairing it with less busy/swirly typography so my eyes don't explode.
The second version is almost too plain now - though the font is much more preferable.
I'm a typography guy so will always lean towards customizing the typography, so I do like that you've done the love hearts on the i's, but I feel you could maybe add a slight element to make it look more customized and maybe use the type to interact with the apron strings or something for example?
I certainly don't want exploding eyeballs!!! lol
I didn't realize the font and apron were competing til you pointed that out- thanks, I believe you are right.
I like the second version better. I agree with shanuea, find a different font or create the lettering for Mi Bonita. Ditch the hearts above the i's. The heart on the pocket of the apron is sufficient. I am also a bit distracted by the font for bakes. Not that I hate it, but there might be a better font for the job, perhaps try a san serif font.
This is off to a pretty good start. I'd remove the circle to let the logo breath. The font is a bit too over the top although it matches the general look and feel of the logo. In that sense, the font you used for the other version works much better.

2nd version.
Also, wants a circle form of the logo for stickers on the cake boxes etc.
Also, also- long time no post! Hope everyone is well =)

Thank You- I think I thought the slabby serifs reminded me of the stitches on the apron. I'll try some new fonts.

Good job so far Joy, keep it up!
