It wouldn't work as stand alone logo, but I saw on your site that it's for a tee-shirt, am I right?

Unfortunately, the shape of the state of New Jersey is just plain ugly. People have been trying to use it in logos and artwork for years and all it does is make them look like amateurs. I think the name of the business is far more interesting than the shape of New Jersey. Why not take a completely different approach and try to develop an icon that has to do with the clothing rather than the state you're in. Believe me, no one ever said, "hey, that's cool -- it's from New Jersey." Represent your clothing. New Jersey is immaterial.
