Brief from client
My personal Identity
As Suggested I tried out your suggestions of doing the symbol in the middle of the wording. I tried it, but the logo completely lost its balance.
But still I came up with two improved versions. If you could give me some feedback on these ones it will be much appreciated.

I still like the top version. I like the colors, but I would loose the gradient on the basic logo.
If that icon is a "JC" then is off. Put it vertical above or between "justin caruana"
I agree- I'd like to see a centered version.

yup i too think that the JC emblem position can be tried out in a different manner. I like the symbol. can there be a better font option. also the typo below the brand name is too close.
the idea is not that bad but i agree with luenib, i don't see the symbol represent JC and your typo need to be adjust. make it a bit contrast between justin and caruana. find a different clean sleak typo and i think it's better if you do not use of them in lower case... try mix and match between justin caruana and interactive design or vise versa :)
