Las Vegas Aces

Brief from client
Same as before.
After reading all the comments and suggestions went on a different approach. Made all for aces into ends of blades of a hockey stick and place that famous welcome sign below.
I didn't see a hockey stick until I read the description. You have a long way to go to make this idea work, but right now it's very rough. The welcome sign is pointed where it shouldn't be, and lopsided.
Thank you Mr. Kill and I agree on all that you said. Made this one quick last night after a long day of driving my transit bus. Yeah, it is rough and raw, sorry.
I like that you are going for new ideas. This will need some work, but that is okay!
The idea of incorporating the welcome sign is a good idea, but maybe if it wasn't just a stick coming out of it? If that was the final shape of everything. Don't be scared to use the name to fill it in. Sports teams (I am pretty sure) like their names!
At this stage I think you should make sketches. Lots of sketches. Use this idea and go with it. Sketch! Sketch! Sketch! Sketch! and Sketch! Then Sketch! After that Sketch! and finally Sketch again!
Bring us those sketches!
- random side note - the order cards like to be in is Spade (1 point on top), Heart (2 points on top), Club (3 points on top), Diamond (4 sides). That is why those are the symbols.
Normally, no one would care, cards is cards, but this is Vegas so you better believe they will care about card ranks!
Yeah! Counting the points is an easy way to remember what suit beats what in most card games when it could matter, such as tied poker hands, or when two people tie when drawing a 'high card'.
this is a drawing, not a logo. I thought that thing coming out of the white hole was a card slicer. Make more sketches. I'd go back to that part of the process.

Additional fun fact - in decks with more than 4 suits the next rank is usually Star (5 points) then flower (6 points)!
Wow- I never heard of this. Cool to know!

Thank you, Waffles. I really appreciate your advice and that extra spotlight on playing cards issue.
Sorry, I'm not a fan of this idea at all.
You should start conceptualizing by sketching ideas on paper before even touching your mouse. Doing it directly on the computer is very limiting.
I knew you couldn't resist :P
Charlie, can you explain in a few words why you're not a fan of this idea?
Because I have no idea what I'm looking at.
Why is there half of what looks like greenish a hockey stick popping out of some white square and playing cards floating around?
It doesn't make sense and it's overly complicated.
For me it is a somewhat hasty idea, even if I can see the hockey stick.
Could you show another concept?
