Local Food & More
Brief from client
We were asked to establish a 'Look and Feel' for Local Food (& More). Our challenge was to help establish them in the local community and showcase their ethos to local residents. Local Food (& More) aims are to create a multifunctional hub for the village, showcasing local talents and cottage industries and thereby promoting local employment, offering volunteering opportunities and harnessing the talents and skills of local people. It also aims to promote that it is an ideal weekend meeting place to get together or to stop off and have a coffee and buy local organic food at the Green Café, after your stroll, cycle or horse ride on the popular Flitch Way.
Sitting down with Local Food (& More), it soon became clear that local grown food was what was at the core. Therefore we created a logo that reflected this; playing on dinner place settings and replacing the knife and fork with a garden fork and garden spade, the local home grown produce is also highlighted by the organic feel to the typography and the earthy colour palette used. This organic 'Look and Feel' is also reflected in the website and printed literature by introducing natural materials such as hessian.
The strapline also uses a good play on words 'Feeding Community Spirit'

I love this!! The colors look nice and I love the idea overall - makes a lot of sense :D
I will mention that I at first was wondering why a shovel and the gardening fork were there but now I like the idea of it. As for the type it is organic so good job on that, but you have a lot of repeated letters that look the same (which messes up your logo a little), maybe adust the width of one of the characters that look similar so it doesn't look too computerized.
So basically make all your O's and L's look slightly different, just slightly! :D
