Lockhart Motocycles logo

Brief from client 

Finally a chance to get a logo that I'm currently working on critiqued by the wonderful yet brutal BOTW crew.

This one if for Lockhart Motocycles. He sells and repairs motocross and road bikes.

He basically just asked for a logo because all he has is crappy text at the moment.

I wanted to incorporate both road and dirt bike in to the one logo.

Not sure if you can tell or not after looking at it but what I've done is try and style a MX and a Road bike helmet. But not sure if its working yet. Any ideas?

Client hasn't seen anything yet.

Good choice of fonts. Watch out the kerning, especially between the L and O.

I'm not a fan of the visual. A bit too simple and sloppy.

Yeah thanks I always forget the kerning side of things. Not sure what you mean by simple and sloppy? Could you explain a little more please?

Forget about the too simple part. It IS simple and it's totally fine.

By sloppy, I mean that the curbs forming your symbol could use a lot of fine tuning. Tweak'em some more. As of now, it looks too sketchy and uneven.

I didn't recognize the off-road helmet at once, maybe make it a bit more obvious. Idea is good!

The symbol isn't working for me at all, at first all i saw was a jumbled mess, then when I actually saw the helmets it was a bit lacking. The type is ok. Just a bit further on this one.

The helmets are not working for me, when i looked at the logo i it took me a WHILE to see the helmets before reading further into the description. I don't think you should have them stacked like that it almost looked like the moto helmet was a outline of a bikers shoulders ? idk lol
I love the look of the logo but the helmets need fixing.

Your choice of font is good but you need to improve your logo, like the others I too had a hard time recognizing what it is all about until I read the description. Keep it up your idea is good thank you for sharing
