Brief from client
Logo for BnB located in Belize
Not 100% complete. Will more than likely change text treatment. Font is "Aruna"
I referenced the shape of the mahogany seed pod
The negative space represents a door that I shaped into an "M"
All critiques/suggestions welcomed especially on color and text treatment.
Thanks!

Started with this sketch, shifted and simplified as much as possible
I find the sketch to be a way better, and more interesting, logo symbol than the one you uploaded. It is still simple, recognizable, and the Inn is suggested beautifully here. I would really suggest that you reconsider working from the sketch!
Also, not too big of a fan of the font either. It is a little to "playful" for the type of business. You don't have to go full on formal, but there are some great fonts with personality that don't look childish- if that makes sense.
Anyway- sketch for the win- that's my advice! =)
Interesting start. I do think the font needs rethinking. I would work from your sketch as well. I think that has some real possibilities. The large shape is nice, but lacks just a little interest.
In your original sketch, I can definitely see the minimal shape of a house, or an "inn".
In your logo here, it looks more like a strapless dress formed out of that negative space.
I think you have an interesting shape going for you, however I think going back to your sketches might really help this along.
Thanks for the feedback. I 100% agree. I wanted to stick as close to the sketch as possible but I was having issues shifting the point to the top while keeping the same level of synergy. It's why I simplified to the sketch that you see attached here. Back to the drawing board
I do not think that you need to concentrate on the " M " inside the symbol. You have nicely going " M " in the outer shape on the leafs . That could be your winning lottery ticket here.
You may have your reason, but black make this hotel looks like a haunted place. The *negative* space looks like a big mouth opening to eat the hotel guest.
Although black means classy but this is an B&B. Can try more cheerful and welcoming color(s)?
Lol I see everything you mentioned. Glad I scrapped it. Can you take a look at the refined version that I just uploaded and give me your thoughts. Still thinking about color
