I like the colors and the symbol a lot! My only "If" with it is that I'm wondering why the symbol is positioned like that? It makes me wonder because since it looks like an "M" why not just use that as a replacement for the textual "m"?
I think it will also be a stronger piece that way, also I would check my kerning of the font because it looks like it stretches out on "zocchi" and the space between the R and the Z are too close.
I like the concept, but not getting a racing brand from this. I think gigafrost is correct. For this application, there is no reason why you shouldn't combine a stylized "M" symbol directly into the M of the name. It would really help with branding.

I like what I'm seeing, beside the typeface which is a too plain, especially for that type of client.
