Logo design for a interior design firm "Matchy Matchy"
Logo design for a interior design firm "Matchy Matchy"
Something makes me want to change the h and y so that they look like chairs...
But then you would lose that nice curve that is repeated throughout the text.
Curious how it would look if you extended the the horizontal line of the t further to the c so that it had the same shape and thin line spacing as the bracket shapes around the white hy??? (speaking of which, the spacing there looks inconsistent to me)..
So, other than a couple of tweaks that I would try just in case it worked a little better and the spacing around the hy/bracket mark... looks great to me.
Simple, fun and well designed. Well done. I would look at playing with that "h y" as suggested though but may not work but will only know when it's done.
Only other thing I would say is perhaps a different colour because although it stands out on a turquoise background now, will it always have such a background and if so how will this work for various media?
Saying all of this I'd be more than happy to present such a concept.
Nice work. Congrats.
Color scheme is a bit cold and subdued, maybe you should try a different one.
If I was designing this I would have went for a less thick typography but this one works good too.
When I saw the "hy" I thought it was an "ny" like in the New York Giants logo. Now if you want to emphasize letters in this logo those letter would be "mm", not "hy"
"How do you read it? "matchy-hyctaw?" This is such a ridiculous comment its untrue. He's not trying to emphasise the individual letters but that its a repeated name. You clearly did not get this concept which is quite worrying because its so obvious.
Actually, my comment was meant to be hilarious and its true. Reflections in logos that are supposed to be readable are not horizontal but vertical. They go mostly at the bottom of the original word, not beside.
Now, if this is a repeated word, why make it look like an overlapped reflection?
I clearly did not get the concept because obviously is not that obvious to me... unless there's a note at the bottom of the logo that says "the name of my company is matchy-matchy" so you have to read it like that" (yes, another ridiculous comment according to your taste).
The first thing I do before I send my feedback is to take a look at the logo, then I read the brief. That's exactly what people do in the real life: they see the logo, then they ask "what the hell is that?"

Is this a real company? If so, wow! lucky you!

Smart and nicely designed. I'm not sure about the colors, but they work as they are.
