Brief from client
Design an identity that uses the full name "Merchant Account Solutions" along with an icon.
The company provides a service for credit card processing. The idea was to keep an icon abstract and provide movement. The concept is a cross between a triangle and an aperture.

I like the symbol you've created here but how does it link to accountancy? to me is just looks like a nice triangular symbol and has no real idea behind it. I think you can work on the fonts, although they are fine, there's nothing special about them, try tweaking some letters or something to make the text your own

I appreciate your feedback. I agree with you on the typography and will give that a try today. The idea behind the symbol was a combination of what the company stands for and what they do. The triangle represented strength and durability while the aperture design represented our focus on the customers. The three sides represented the three aspects of our company: 1). The merchants 2). Our accounts 3). The solutions we provide.

ok thats fair enough. I prefer this one to the other one. Just tweak the text on this one and i think you'll have a very nice logo!
I like the clean lines of this logo. It slightly reminds me of the Chase bank logo, in a good way -- I think it's different enough but signals financial integrity. I don't think you need to refer to the aperture inspiration in the future. I think the strength is in the triangle, but it would be good to think of how this links with your services.
I don't buy your explanation of the idea, but it looks nice. On the other hand, there's plenty of abstract logo's around with a far-fetched or no idea behind it, and doesn't necessary make them bad logo's.
