Brief from client
Just a personal freelancing logo. Something simple
I tried to make the logo something simple that I can use also for repeated patterns and different color combinations.
Hi- maybe I'm just in a bad mood b/c I can't get one of mine to work... But, I don't really see an idea here. There is no symbol to speak of, and All the different font sizes are throwing me off. Not a huge fan of the color scheme. Sorry so harsh. You said you were going for simple and I don't think you accomplished that.
I can see a bit of potential here, but your current font choice for "Gulden' is just not working for me... a bit too cartoony and doesn't match up with the angular style of the rest of the design. Try a font that's a bit more modern and edgy. I'm not a fan of the colour choice either, but if you intend to use different colour combinations that it's not as important... but you should bare it in mind.
No idea, poor typography & execution. Back to the drawing board.
I will use this blank space for a short rant...
When I see 'designers' posting personal logos like this, and there are a lot of them on this critique board, I should feel happiness because my competition in the graphic design community looks like a bunch of untalented and uneducated morons but, I don't. I feel sad.
You might ask why....well, the answer is here:
Good competition is a driving force behind designers creativity. It forces you to get smarter and better.

Sorry, I don't understand the idea and overall it doesn't feel pleasant to look at.

End of rant.
Thanks for the tips. I don't claim to know anything about logo design, so all of your comments are helpful. I will look into the re-design
???????????
You are claiming to know about design by creating a personal logo for design.
WTF?
"I don't claim to know anything about logo design, so all of your comments are helpful"
I think he admitted he is learning and never claim he knew about design...in fact he was great full for your comment on top..chill out player
