MONTOYA Rumbo al CICOG 2016

Brief from client

Logo que represente y motive apoyo positivo hacia el candidato
Candidato a la presidencia del Colegio de Ingenieros Comerciales del Guayas
-
Logo to represent and reason Positive support for the Candidate
Presidential candidate of the Association of Commercial Engineers Guayas

Algo más positivo que el símbolo universal del "OK" no creo, propuesta simple y elegante, con colores sugeridos por el cliente... se pudo hacer algo mejor pero el cliente no quiso :)

- Something more positive than the universal symbol "OK" do not think , simple and elegant proposal, suggested by the customer colors ... it could do better but the client did not want :)

Sorry, this is a mess.

First, the color scheme is all over the place. Usage of gradients is also inadvisable.

Second, the hand isn't very refined (lines sticking out at the tips of the fingers, anatomical inaccuracy, etc). I would discard that idea altogether and do some more research on presidential candidate logos. This looks like something that would represent a toy store or something.

Sorry if that's harsh, but better to get tough love than have it sugar coated.

I 100% agree with Jon here. This is not working at all. You drew this thing directly on the computer and it's shows. You need to spend several hours sketching if you want to get something viable. This is definitely not.

You need to go through a real creative process:

- research: look out for what the competition does and identify trends.

- inspiration: www.logopond.com www.dribbble.com www.pinterest.com

- sketching: this is the more crucial part of the process. Sketch a few hundreds doodles, whatever goes through your brain. By doing so, ideas will magically pop up in your mind.

Also, you can make your client work a bit; ask him these questions: http://tinyurl.com/q2o2c5n

Execution on the computer happens only, and only, when everything is figured out. Illustrator, or whatever software you're using, with all its limitations, is not a creative too. Your brain is. And its limitations aren't existent is you put the right amount of work.

Good luck.
