Brief from client
What is wrong with this logo?
Hi Guys,
I just got rejected by stocklogos saying : This logo has potential, please work on it more and
resubmit. Take the time to take this logo to the next level.
Any ideas or suggestion would be highly appreciated.
Many Thanks

I cant see anything wrong with it to be honest! i like it! That being said the symbol is rather large compared to the size of the text.
Is this for a competition or is this a logo you have created to try to sell?
Hi
thanks for your respond, I design this logo to sell at stocklogos.com
maybe you right I will try more balance between text and the symbol
The problem might come from 1) the symbol being way too big compared to the word mark, 2) the composition being way too loose and 3) the name "finalcut" being a property of Adobe. If you want to sell it on Stock Logo, you're better off putting "Company name" or something similar.
Also the baseline is wrong. It should say "movie editing".
Hi
all the comments are commonly said about the shape being too big and the name is too specific. Thanks a lot Shawali, will do that.
Yeah, the logo is quite large but the main issue I see is too many small shapes. I would eliminate the film effect on the left scissor handle and keep the one on the right. That might make it a bit simpler.
This honestly isn't bad, though.
you right mate, I will eliminate those little film effects!
thanks a lot
The symbol works, but you definitely need a new name. Final Cut Pro is as about as well known in the motion graphics industry as Photoshop is with the graphic design industry. Movies Editing is a grammar error and should be Movie Editing.
I also agree that the size of the icon is too large compared to the type, but since you need a new name anyway that should be easy to address.
Thanks Kevin, will do that all mentioned above. about final cut I just found it in movie terminology and I thought it was a common phrase. anyway thanks a lot for the advises!
I love this community already
I totally understand now why this version was rejected. Your symbol has a lot of issues and need more work. For me handles and blades are not organically communicating plus s perspective done wrong, too. Also, I don't really get that light shade of gray inside loop holes. The bottom line is that a main title didn't materialized into a symbol, as it is another pair of sissors next to a text.
Hi Steven,
maybe I am too young in this industry, can you please explain more, in a simple language as english is not my first language, about :handles and blades are not organically communicating.
For main title, it is supposed to be a common place holder text which will definitely change when the logo purchased.
Thanks for your feedback
(Stavengard)^^^^^What is the holy hell are you talking about?!?!?!? That makes no sense at all- no offense! Are you trying to call this a "fail" because he didn't make a pair of scissors out of forced, illegible, letters in the name??? It's called symbol+name- not everything has to be letters in the negative space, etc. (cause that's how real logos work!)
THE ABOVE IS SIMPLY BAD ADVICE! There is nothing off about the perspective and no clue what you are saying about the "s"!!!
All this needs is a tiny bit of refining and a resize of the symbol!!! Good luck to you on getting this logo accepted! =)
now I am confused :-) I never go to proper design education, but I am a learner, but when it comes to a scientific I just dont get it. I love art since I was 4 or 5 years I am so in love with my father painting. when there is contradiction like this, I am pulling my hair out, and I need to learn more. Any way my high appreciation to all the advises, it means a lot to me. thanks a lot
Do not be confused. :)
Your logo just needs to be changed slightly.
Make the scissors smaller.
Change the name to something generic like 'Movie Editing Company'.
That is all you need to do.
Yes, this is simply bad advice. The scissors were rendered just fine.
thanks, I did it with perspective tool in Illustrator and it is 99,9% align with the perspective tool guide
I like this logo. I go with the group here and say that it just needs to be refined.
Just scale the scissors back, and change that name.
I like the scissors.
Done and resubmit, sometimes I just don't get it the rules in stocklogos, they use the reason sometimes too subjective, like aesthetically not good enough while to me there is lot of aesthetically not good enough logos that already approved.
or make it more unique. anyway thanks
I like the design as well. Although, I feel with the detail on the scissors it would fit more appropriately on a film festival poster as a centerpiece. The purchaser of the logo will run into issues with the small shapes when they scale it down for, let's say, a business card or a letterhead.
they said that too, and I have revised it.
Thanks a lot for your feedback
It is accepted and staff favourite! thanks a lot for your valuable advises.
I love you all :-)
Wonderful! Congratulations.
It looks good there, nice fixes.
Seems like a record number of comments here and I just wanted to be a part of it.
Oh, and I like the scissors.
lol, really? thanks by the way, hope it sold soon hehehe
The scissors are fairly similar to https://stocklogos.com/logo/cinedit
Same guy, that is what this version evolved into.
Sorry didn't realize that, with the different ID's, Is that something you can look up or did you just know that?
yes it was me. I love to make lot of user IDs so it makes me stay awake.
I have lot of passwords, usernames and places I have to remember and this make me exciting ;-)
