ermmm... same font, same kerning issues... why ask for comments and then dismiss them all? Android frog? What does it all mean???
Go out and have 100 beers. then start from scratch. It's easier to step away rather than struggle with something that wasn't a good solution in the first place!
I think the general idea - icon + word - is good. The rest of the suggestions, recently, were to get a beer... I disagree, I say save up your beer money and hire someone else to do this logo - you have gone too far down a dead end path and are not finding your way back. It was not great on version 1 and has just gotten "not better". Unfortunately, because it had potential when it had its other name, not so much anymore.
Athur you are a very good designer and i am really sorry to agree with the above comments as 2 options you got. Either way you got to get out of this trip....this logo doesn't work anymore, take some free days, learn something new like playing guitar or piano......go fishing....but get out of the damn studio, is time.
...and he didn't have two beers.... (anti-alcoholic, I suppose...)
Maybe enlarge the "r" in "morph", and slide the "p" underneath - this will solve your kerning problem. Then why not use the little guy's eyebrows as "m" for mr.
And maybe also change the color?
I smiled when i looked at the lil logo, even tho you come up with your own creature because its similar to a famous brand people will always think your trying to steal that idea. So maybe that route is not the way to go, also Change the Color, Fix the Font spacing, and have fun!
I would start fresh! =)
Aaaaaaarrrrrthuuuuuuur!!! Pleaaaaaase try a different fooooooooooont!!!!
And I really gotta say: Take a break, man. Get away from this project for like a WEEK or more. You need some fresh ideas, fresh brain cells. Everything that was said above is spot on- especially about your little dude (while he IS cute) looking too much like Andriod. If I see one more logo on this website with that damn font I'm gonna freak, Arthur!!
Go get laid!! Sex always helps clear the mind. :)
Your best comment yet (:
Wow!
Arthur, we all know you have it in ya to do better than this. Like Chomp said, why ask for our comments and not put an overwhelming response like, at the very least, changing the font, into your next attempt? It's not like the designer of the font has put a gun to your head...... use it or else, right??
Sara..... shocking! :p Not sure it would help you any Arthur, but certainly not a bad idea :D
why not try a different concept taking into consideration the meaning of the word "morph" and take it from there... just a suggestion. =)
Here's an idea: try and incorporate some of the products in your catalog directly into the word "morph" (with a different font of-course) That way you remove the android-like impression and give the entire logo an original look. (:
When I hear the word 'Morph' I think of something squishy and pliable, not a box. Your current symbol is adorable, but aside from looking like a familiar symbol, I don't really understand how it relates to the company or what the little leg things are.
Another issue I see is that the 'M' in Morph looks too wide compared to the other letters. I may be alone, but it bothers me.
I had an overnight inspiration: (not that kind sara suggested...) : Morph is actually from nature, "metamorphosis". ever heard? a little worm becomes a beautiful butterfly - or a grass hopper goes through its life stages.. Why not try to incorporate something like this into the logo...
the reason ive never commented on this design from start to finish is because ive never liked it.. all the comments above are completely true. U need to start over again im affraid.. think more about a logo that shows something morphing into something else like Theo said. Your font is really bad i think u made it yourself from quarter circles, half circles and full circles with some lines which is not working, You can do so much better, your personal logo you done is wicked and looks a millions times better than this!!
Sort it out Arthur!! :)
...and he's taken a week off... hope you get good beer where you come from... (you must try Windhoek Lager)
....I think he killed himself....???
