Brief from client
MVD Graphics. Graphic design studio.
This is my logo for a graphic design studio. I will be happy to know good and bed opinion. Thank you.
Ok, since I am infamous for my 'brutal' critiques looks like your first one will fall into "bad" category.
Lets go step by step...
1. Graphic mark.
What does this represent? Boomerang, triangle/arrow and a letter 'o'. This does not say anything except that you know to draw some shapes in a vector drawing program. If it has some alternate meaning I don't get it, sorry.
2. TEXT.
If you have dots after M & V, why not a dot after D?
In case there is a good reason why not, there is still a question of uneven spacing and letter kerning. Underline is not centered properly nor is 'GRAPHICS' text.
3. Overall look & creativity.
Graphic mark shows nothing creative, it's just a very unimaginative abstract cliché that has no message. Typography is clean and with minor fixes and cleanups it could work. This can be eventually called a logo but definitely not a very creative or good one. You need a good idea to start with so I would suggest you trash this and start over.
Sorry, I am in agreement with the infamously brutal Splashster (it says that on his business cards, BTW).
There needs to be an explanation for elements you use to create a design. Right now it just looks like tossed around shapes. I don't know what is going on with the periods, but they are huge... that was distracting to me. Allignment has been covered- but if I saw that while searching for a design studio I would not be impressed.
I noticed you put "graphics" and left out "design". Right now that is truth in advertising. Start fresh and create something you can put "design" below and be proud.

Good luck.
