Class assignment was to create a quick logo for the city of New York. This is what i came up with.

The idea is a little too basic, but it's not bad. You need to think about the reduction of the logo, the stars are gonna completly dissapear, as the details of the statue, you need to pulish those. You should place the moon on the N cause it's not working over the statue. And finally fix the kerning on the NY because they're too tight and they're causing tension. Fix all of these and you're ready!
I agree with the comment above.
There are 2 symbols where there should be only one. Otherwise it's too complicated and the reduction of the logo will be messy indeed. I'd keep the Statue of Liberty.
And yes, watch out the kerning!
