I've got a few things to point out about this one, some positive and others not so much. I'll break it up over a couple posts.

The Empire State icon is much better than the first version. Even without the text below, it can be easily identified as the building it's representing. The first version didn't look like the building at all. The added details help distinguish it from a generic skyscraper silhouette, and are simple enough not to clutter up the design.

However, I think it needs just a little bit of work. It's not quite centered right, and the proportions are a bit off. Below, I've done a little illustration to show what I mean. On the left is your original, with a few guidelines I've drawn over it. On the right, I've adjusted the tower to line up with those guidelines.

This icon is drawn well, but needs just a little bit of fine-tuning.

It's really hard to tell in this jpg, but in the original there's a little more tower protruding over the guidelines on the left compared to the right.

One of the benefits of using a vector-based drawing program is absolute geometric precision, at any scale. And with "snap" features, it's so easy it's practically automatic to have things line up perfectly.

The first version I like more.
