Brief from client
I am a Graphic designer and I am going to start my own company.
The name will be named: Newlayer.
I had a lot of trouble making a good logo with the name Newlayer and now this is my result
My inspiration was a globe covered in layers. Inner core, Outer core etc.
So this is what it become, but I am still doubting about the globe, please give your critique!

It's definitely better than the original version, mostly because the shapes and edges are more unique. That being said, I still have no idea (without your explanation) what that triangle inside a triangle with a red line actually *is*. Maybe try taking that black triangle and make it appear to be "shedding" its old skin, with a red or white new one underneath? This logo has good motion, but there's no telling what that motion is, or why its happening, or how it is connected your brand name.
Also, for your sake and others, please pick a new font. That one is poorly constructed, not kerned, and in painful contrast to your icon. Go with something a bit thicker (to match the thickness and weight of the icon).
www.losttype.com has some great free / donate fonts available that are more professionally designed.
Thanks alot, I will keep playing with my logo and make use of your advice, specially with the font :)
Thanks!
I like this version alot more from the previous submission,
I still think it needs some fine tuning, but it has potential!
fontsquirrel is great too.
And in general, I find that dark grey works better than black.
i like the old logo icon w. the sphere with the core like if it was the anatomy of the sun, it gives a nice depth and pops out more, keep the font and keep the color of the font, but that old icon is better!
