This treatment is quite jarring in my opinion especially when you apply it to multiple elements like this. Props for experimenting with a wild idea, though!

I like version 1's originality.
This version has way too much going on!

Way too complicated. The palm tree and the sun don't bring anything go the plate. The treatment you gave the symbol is complex enough.
