Brief from client
client runs a digital-social media marketing service. wanted to use the military- road term someone uses when passing someone. He was adamant about wanting an arrow displaying this concept.
wanted it sleek- modern- high tech looking with appeal for 20-35 yr olds.
I posted this one earlier, but here is a modified "final" version.

In a word " left " a space between " f " and " t " needs more work and then in " marketing " - " k " and " e " needs to be adjusted , too. Frankly, I don't a huge difference between version 1 and this one, but I could be wrong.
the main difference was the space between the symbol and words. I felt they were too close, and I got rid of the noise in gradient. Client loved it, but I talked him out of it. Also, I did adjust kerning, but not enough. I see that now. thanks.
Jeff, what if you could try to make a handwriting capital " L " from that stem down from arrow instead of a circle with outline? I think that it might work on this concept.
I tried that in initial sketches, couldn't get it to work.
Sorry, I'm a bit late on this one.
I'm also sorry to say that for me, this isn't working. The main thing that bothers me is that the symbol is totally off balance. You need to manage empty spaces around the arrow better. The arrow pops out very awkwardly from the white circle.
The font looks really flimsy for some reason. There's something off about it. The kerning needs to be fixed.
I'm not a fan of the gradient. It just makes the logo very dull.
Globally, I think you could've come up with something way better than that. I understand that's a final version", but if you want to push it, just go back to the sketching phase and just keep doodling. Something will eventually come up.
Keep it up.
I can get the kerning. I can see that. totally don't see the balance thing your talking about. most gradients are overly bright. I wanted it really subtle. but I will play around with it.
So, I appreciate the feedback, but have to disagree with most of it.
The client was super happy with it, so it is what it is. And I did the job on the cheap. So, I'm pretty much done. will make minor adjustments, but not with the shape of icon. I think it works.
Charlie, out of curiosity - what was the answer on that " titch " logo/game that you posted?
:D
Ask that in the Titch logo thread, not here!
made some changes. brightened up gradient. kerning adjustments.
