Reads as "Overtoad" reduced or from far away. This doesn't seem like much thought was put into it.
I read it as Overload even when it was small, but I'm afraid I still don't think it works.
From the sounds of it, it's too late to do anything- ("This logo is now a part of all their advertising...") but yeah, this could have been much, much better.
As is, it's cluttered, hard to read and I dunno.. just kind of 'blah'.
I would highly recommend never having things overlap like you've done here behind "ERL" - especially things that are the same color. I'd say that's one of the biggest issues here. And if you made the she-devil yourself I apologize for saying this, but she looks really clip arty.
Seems simple. I see the overload reference...its very basic and if thats what they wanted, they got it.
i agree, the overlapping can be confusing... generally though, it seems to flow nicely.
easy and simple is what sells. 90% of all logos on the market are simple and easy..as if a child created it.
type is weak but overall its good
i personally avoid outline in the fonts, but is just me. What is with the chick there? Also is not pretty electric is more overwhelming, overlapping is annoying and 'o" is lifted above the other letter in my perception. Go with something more massive but simpler, if you want to keep the outline make it thinner but get rid of the overlap stuff there......
I am the singer of this band. The art is as exactly as we wanted. not complex, very simple and to the point. in music, complex or too artsy is too much of a pain in the a**.
Whats up with making a bunch of accounts to praise this (comments 3-5)? This is a critique site, it gets you nowhere.
Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking! Perhaps the creator of this logo thing just doesn't want to hear anything other than positive comments. Too bad there aren't many to give...
And I was thinking "what the hell is wrong with me? look all this guys with zero pencils like it like hell!" Thanks for the above comment curaga.
Simple logo? What's so simple about it? Simple (as far as logos are concerned) mean uncluttered and clean and clear idea. You have a clip art of a she-devil that doesn't match in size, weight or style as a hard to read, black/red wordmark. Nothing simple about your colour combination either. The only thing simple about this logo is the font! I too found it strange to see 3 comments above from members who all signed up on the same day and time. Makes you wanna say hmmmmmmm. I also find the overall design unpleasing to the eye. This is NOT a good logo.
Hehe, yeah the more I think about it, I think he just wanted to add as many green 'thumbs up' as he could to his own logo, thus logging in via three brand new user names all within ten minutes!
I have a feeling anything other than "oooohs" and "aaahs" on this thread will be ignored, so why bother, right!?
You got that right Sara! I doubt we'll hear from him again.
I like the little she devil, and I like that you've tried to do something with the type that sort of looks like a circuit.
However, Rock and Roll band from Titusville,? You need more ROCK!! More in-your-face, I hate you're f#$%%$ guts impact. (I don't hate you, I mean it's got to have more attitude). This looks like something from the early '70 and I don't mean Led Zep-cool... but more like Bay City Rollers-lame.
You're little she devil, she's unproportionate to the type. On a silkscreen her fine details will be lost.
Try to find more balance in your words and images. Typography, is that Hellvetica? Do something with that, but don't use Hellvetica.
