Brief from client
My initials are NJP and I've been using a handwritten version of this mark since middleschool.

the j is not quite right in either of these...
Sorry, it reads NP. At best. Keep things simple. Maybe you don't have to use your initials, which is what almost everyone does.
Here are some examples of cool monograms: https://tinyurl.com/ydfguecj
Notice how a lot of them use a grid.
Keep it up!
I'll keep prototyping. Do you think that the NJP has to be perfectly visible within the mark? Once i have a brand mark, I feel like it should be able to function as a familiar and unified mark and not necessarily as three letters.
Basically functioning as symbols/a symbol
For example: NJP reduced to lines and circles (the image is sideways)
Also, in regards to the link - I'm not trying to knock any of those monogram/logos but they're all the same. I want my brand to stand out. I want it to be solid, really evoking that timelessness and strength of print. A hard, trustworthy mark etc.

If you truly want this you have a lot of hard work to do. What you want can and has been done. But you are far from there yet. Which is ok. Drive and determination are all you need.
I understand your pic above, but just make 100 more of those and see where you are at.
I believe this to be a step back- sorry!
Keep at it tho!
Thanks, I will!
