Brief from client
wanted a strong 80's theme logo reminiscent of an afterschool special
wanted a strong 80's theme logo reminiscent of an afterschool special.... my biggest concern is using a background ... it would work on a business card and web banner i suppose but on anything else like a letterhead or invoice and i may run into some issues.... any feedback will be appreciated
I was joking about the design part, when I started in the early 80's I leaned much more to the Saul Bass school than the neon grid masters. I wasn't joking about the cool part, I really was cool. Seriously.

But really using this as a logo, even tongue in cheek, is a big mistake. The majority of your potential clients will miss the joke and those that do may very well think all you do is parody, not original design.

......did you take a well known meme format, and attempt to turn it out into a logo.
You're working with internet shitposters who work as graphic designers here, and I'm not finding it amusing that you're using a meme as a brand.
Either that, or I'm being way too hard on you, and you genuinely are pulling this from your memories of the 1980s, but idk man its way too uncanny.
...
I'M STEALING THIS THANKS.
Alright this is where my career started, so this is history, not a meme. And I was cool back then, so back off you two. :)
Your entire existence has been memed to ludicrous levels, deal with it in therapy.
You realize that he was joking, right? ;)
Its more sad you didn't see I was joking.
Too harsh maybe?

I also challenge you on this.
There's no way you were cool.
