I'm starting a sustainable/outdoors themed clothing line brand (similar to patagonia/prana/urban outfitters). I've gone through various "object" logos but ultimately decided on a type face logo. My market audience is M/F ages 15-40. I'd really appreciate your thoughts!

Its certainly not a bad start- just needs some tweaking. The curves are a bit uneven which makes some letters a little harder to read. For instance, the l is looking like a h, the C needs smoothing out, the a is a little odd (as it is very pointy), and the e does not quite meet with the t smoothly. Some letters have a strong lean to them, and others (like ate) are more straight up and down.
If you are doing for a true "handwritten" style, then make it all a little "rougher" to look truly handwritten (even better, actually hand write the word several times with different pens, then scan that in and refine!).
If you are going for something more fluent, then definitely smooth out the areas I mentioned.
Good start tho!
I'm not getting an "outdoors" feel from this logo. It could literally stand for anything. It needs more character, and a bit more of an idea behind this.
As Joy pointed out, the handwritten aspect needs some refinement as well.
valid point, but I should also add that the line also has an element of streetwear so snowboarders/skiiers/hikers etc. would be attracted to buy it. How would I give an element of the outdoors without ruining the simplicity of the logo?
I think it would be good to build some character for your letters first. Add varying line thickness, enhance the handwritten feel, etc. Then go back and add that layer of "streetwear" aesthetic. That line that crosses your T could be the focal point to give it its identity. Maybe give it a grunge effect to simulate tracks on the ground?
I wish you the best of luck.
