I like the simplicity of this. The thing that is bothering me is the Portico. I think the letters are too far apart, I get the look your going for but maybe it needs some tweaking, Also I would either make the letters all the same height or fix the black frame above the o in Portico on the right so it equal to the space above the P on the left. I would lose the blob you have on the bottom surrounding Cafe-Galeria, or change the shape so it looks better with the rest of the logo. Good Luck!
it is a good start. Not a fan of the fonts. The rounded font of Café Galería doesn't fit with the angular background. Work on the edges of the coffee cup at the top. Even if it is stylistic and an incomplete oval, the two halves don't look in synch. Coffee cups don't come to a point (where the two points meet over the spoon) or bulge to the left of the steam.
Meh, for me it just looks like your basic generic coffee joint logo.
Overall, it is poorly executed. The curves are all flimsy and uneven, when they're not totally random. The fact that the client wants something simple doesn't mean it should be made in 10 min. Don't confuse simple with simplistic. The simplest logos are generally the hardest to achieve.
Font wise, Impact is one of these few fonts, along with Comic Sans and Papyrus, you want to stay away from as far as possible. It'll just make your logo look cheap and unprofessional.
You might want to rethink the whole thing and restart from scratch. That "coffee place surrounded by art" is a cool place to start from but right now it's not working at all. Do a bit of research and sketch your ass off to let the ideas flow.
Try choosing and focusing on a period of art like impressionism, Bauhaus, cubism, or renaissance. And design your logo in style of an art period that people can easily recognize or a popular painting like starry night, or the scream. That way you will attract the right audience. And it will be more clear that this is an artful coffee place.

When I think of coffee and art, I think of that kind of treatment.

Another idea that combines the coffee shop scene with artwork.
