Powers Maxwelle' (Second Look)

Brief from client

Same as last post.

I took the critique from my last post and reworked the logo. For the mark itself, I made it look more like a 'r' and instead of having the silver as the fill I used it as the stroke throughout and on the text. Secondly, I removed the second typeface and stuck with the top typeface, and removed all gradients.
Not sure if it looks right but I took the top right edge of the square behind off to make the triangle part of the 'r' stand out more instead of being mashed into the square. Oh, and I made the type three square lengths long with a .25 in between each square (if they were there). Thoughts?

I guess I still don't quite understand what this symbol says about architecture. The R isn't much clearer, especially if you use a completely different treatment to the triangle "flap."

I would start sketching on paper to come up with some new ideas. I do appreciate how the font matches, but the typeface isn't too interesting to me. I might experiment with different styles, and maybe experiment with different weights.

To be quite honest with you, I'm not sure why he wants a 'r' on all his entities. I've asked him before but what he keeps pointing out is that he wants his mark the 'r' as kind of a NIKE effect. Even though he is nowhere near that kind of recognition. Going back and looking at it again on paper might give me something new to work from. He is dead set on having the mark on everything but I'll look at making this one and a few of the others without it to see if he'd prefer that. Thank you again.

I would explain to him that the Nike "swoosh" is abstract and can be translated subjectively. An "R" is an objective form and represents an initial, or standalone letter. The two ideas aren't analogous.

Good luck.

Thank you.

Still doesn't look like an r. the logo shapes just don't look well together. I would go back to the drawing board. Maybe make the bottom text be in all caps, I think that would look better. But still wouldn't worry about the text too much until you have your graphic logo part on lock so you can find that perfect typeface to go with the graphic.
