Brief from client
This is a logo design for a screen printing shop. Client will provide T-shirt, poster, and graphic design services.
I no this has had quite a bit of bad critique but i have to say that i really like it! I guess the name is a bit of a gimmick but if thats the name the client wants what else can you do but explain to him why its a bad choice. I think you have executed it really well. The only thing that wont work is if you ever need to print this small, such as on stationery as the text will be too hard to read. I really like the 3D look of it though. Good job!
Bad typography , multiple fonts
weird skew on the press icon looks bad
name is still terrible ! It's way too local, imagine yourself as a billion dollar company, would that name still be appropriate?
Suggestion : stick to the slab font and a press symbol next to it in the same colors.
all critiques are appreciated, no need to sorry.
Indeed I like what you are saying here. The skew isn't perfect, will try to get more of the fonts showing. I agree with you keep using slab fonts, maybe trying something even thicker.
Billion dollar company won't buy our shirts tho, how often they wear t shirts? We sell to street kids who by a new shirt every month.
Thanks Jon
Great critique on details. I did just spent a short amount of time to put this thing together. I thought my attempt on this logo could open up many good possibilities, never thought of the bad possibilities. Maybe it all depends on the viewer. It is a risky attempt.
Again, the perspective gets in the ay of readability. I like the fonts you picked, but "for" is throwing everything off since the perspective isn't applied to it.
It's still too complicated. I would keep it simple of go for something more text based.
I have to agree completely.
Try something text based and not in perspective. You can keep the symbol even, just have it next to the text, or just put the question mark in it, but avoid putting all that text in it. There is just too much of it!
I have to agree with everything everybody said. And I have a suggestion: why not apply the press-like symbol on only one element from the title? Like, let's say, only on the question mark at the end. Keep all text normal, and just skew and tilt only the question mark using the press symbol. That way you'll have a readable text and a simple and easy to remember symbol. Hope this helps, good luck!

Thank you! you are so kind!
I do agree the points you make here.
Gimmick is the word to describe it.
I thought I know what people like.
Vote down for what? (sorry I just had to)

Thanks for all your feedbacks.

Well I've gotta thumbs down you on certain points to get some balance on this...
For a start, the red printed block is a different size to the black plate block - which doesn't make sense in my opinion.
The word 'for' is not shown in the correct perspective although this might not be a mistake and could be forgivable...
Generally, I know what you've tried to do and why but don't think that it's that effective or memorable.
I've seen type that spells 'life' and when you turn it upside down it spells 'death' imagine this type of concept on your artwork?
Currently I just think that it looks thrown together and is not too memorable.
I'd keep working at it. =)
Completely agree about the red box not being the correct size.
Thanks Jon

in the beginning of this project I did think of just use Helvetica Bold oblique and call it a day, because I thought the name is crazy enough.
