Quebec Nordiques logo idea.

Quebec submitted an official request to National Hockey League ( NHL ) to become an expansion team by 2017. Team will retain its original name " Nordiques " , same it was back in the late 70's - 80's.
Here is my idea of integrating " Q " and " n " for Quebec and Nordiques.
I kept team original, traditional colors.

to me this looks more like an icon or phone app tile than a sport steam logo
The negative space does not really work for me when the N is a different color, just go ahead and remove object N from object Q. Also I agree with darkreixor not about the phone app, but about it not looking that much like a sports team logo, I think something sharper less "fluffy".
I like the second version best. Is it supposed to resemble a bird at all?
Hello Jon! I see your point - it does , indeed , has resemble a bird. So, it is okay, as Snowy Owl is Quebec provincial bird and it is white. To some it might appear as beaver with tail, too. I want to represent an igloo with a lower case " n " being an entrance. Thanks for your input - greatly appreciated!

I agree with using the (n) in the negative space without a color. The outer shape did not look like a (Q) to me.
I think if you add the sporty feel to it then change the font, you will have a good logo.
Is this one better? I added a hockey stick with a puck under " Q ".
Or this one with an addition of the fortress, which is a symbol of Quebec provincial flag.
This black/white version with extra detail on a hockey stick to make it more visible.
And a tricolor version.
I think you complicated it, I prefer the first direction you were taking.
