Rationalist - عقلاني

Brief from client

atheist, rationalist

Logo for a website that promotes rationalism and scientific way of thinking and also promotes secularism and exposes the falsehood of religions.
The logo is a graphical re-write of the Arabic word عـقـلانــي, which means 'rationalist'.

oy mate!!! besides the fact that i usually see this kind of sites and communities as being useless and annoying this logo is a mistake in itself. Way too much things going on, too much detail, no direction at all (or at least not something easy to catch). A logo is a message said in one word- take this and put it in your brief. Until next time let this in the first garbage can available.

Though being an atheist and pro secularist myself, I also find this kind of site, not necessarily useless, but really short-sighted and indeed annoying. But that's the point here.

This is not a logo, unfortunately. Quiet the opposite. A logo is supposed to give as much information with a minimum of shapes and signs.

And though this is supposed to be in Arabic, I can already tell it's unreadable. Keep things simple. A nice font and one witty symbol and you're good to go. Here, it's just an aggregation of pictograms which make the whole thing way too complicated.

I'd go back to the black board and find a more rational way to create your logo =)

Good luck!

thanks a lot for the feedback much appreciated.. I guess you are right. It looks complicated. So, I guess I'm gonna only take the light bulb as a symbol and use normal font for the rest of the word in a nice Arabic font. What do you thing about that?

Why not. But remember, it's better (ie imperative) to sketch beforehand and not use your graphic design software as a creation tool.

Flying Spaghetti Monster bless =)

It does not read well in Arabic, and -as mentioned above - it is not a logo.
I do not have a better advice rather than repeating: go back to the sketching pad and come up with several ideas before you start working on your computer.

On top of everyone else's comments id just like to add, try not to use stock vectors in your logo whats so ever, that brain in the light bulb illustration i have seen many times on shutterstock, which probably means the others are stock too. Draw your own, you can get away with taking a stock vector and changing it or even using parts of it in your own illustrations, But to be honest i wouldnt recomend this when creating a logo. Anyone can take a load of stock illustrations and put them together.

Again, SKETCH SKETCH SKETCH! :)

Far too complex, and fails to explain the brand. As others have stated there is just too much going on, and it is not a logo. Also it is illegible to most if not everyone.
