Declined on LogoGround. I was trying to make a fox mascot logo with Bakeries in mind. Was hoping it would look vaguely like a dessert bun, hence the swirls, but not sure if that came across or not. Regardless, it was a very fun little project, and I enjoyed drawing it. Not sure how he gets anywhere on those stick legs, though.

It's definitely "cute" if you will. However a couple things, I thought it was a squirrel or other sort of small rodent, (chipmunk) and that's mainly due to the snout. Foxes have a long snout like a dog.
The tail is a bit big in proportion to the body, foxes do have big fluffy tails, so you may want to go for a little adjustment in the proportions.
I like the colors and I think the idea - if you can execute it - of the dessert bun would be a cool little twist even if it is sort of subliminal.
I like the colors. Don't like the font choice, I know it was just placeholder but maybe a sans-serif would work better with the clean lines of the animal.
Maybe changing the animal will help? Or does it need to be a fox. And as you mentioned a fox cannot zip around on those little stick legs! Yet a squirrel can climb a tree!
Keep going with the tweaks and let's see another!
Edit -- type placement underneath preferred.
It is a Mouse - Squirrel hybrid! Sadly, I wouldn't have thought this was a fox. But he is pretty cute! =)
It is cute alright. I'm not sure about those legs though. They kinda look like pins sticking out of the body. They clash with the general roundness of that little fella.
Watch out the kerning in the word mark, even though it's a place-holder.
Keep it up!
Thank you for the responses! I totally see how it looks like a small rodent. I will change it to a squirrel and see if that's more fitting. The curly tail could easily give off the bread bun vibe while still letting me work with a warm pallet. (which is mostly why I did a fox. the orange/white/brown is such an inviting color combo.)
I saw how off the "R" was in the horizontal version after posting. It's definitely way out there doing its own thing. I'll see how a non serif font looks and be more careful about the kerning. I just really liked this slab serif because of the nice curl and thickness on the R.
i agree that its cute! but you must remember you shouldnt worry about the bun pun coming across. one thing about logo design is you dont make every aspect of it obvious to people, like an unclosed circle. like the fed ex logo, it took us years to notice the purpose of that arrow, right? thats the beauty of it
Have you tried giving it actual orange paws with the black stroke connecting it to the body?
