I'm generally not a fan and do not recommend the use of a symbol to replace a character. But maybe, just maybe, there is something to salvage here.

But this needs to be reworked almost from scratch.

You need to remove the frame. It serves no purpose and only complicates things.

As for the symbol, it's way too obvious you that you just used the pen tool over a photo. You need to spend a few (a lot of) hours sketching to come up with the most fitting symbol that will serve the purpose of representing the brand and leaving a durable impression as well as not screwing the legibility of the wordmark. That's why substituting a character with a symbol is generally a tricky thing to do. My advice would be to have the guy facing the viewer and not have him in a 3/4 angle.

Spendmore time finding a better font too. And maybe another one for "for safety".
