Brief from client
Clearly client is in need of a logo for a photography business
Top logo is the original with a slightly thicker stroke on photography, per requested from the first upload of this logo months ago.
Client is thinking of black business cards, dark colors for the website, so they wanted to see how it will look on black.
Client is set in using the font for photography and is still looking for a font for the name it will enhance the design and is easy to read, etc.

If you are keeping with the circle, font, etc...
I think you need to pay attention to proportion and placement of your elements.
It was easier to mock up than explain.
If you look at it... the circle fades enough here to resemble or hint at a "C".. for her last name~ while still being reminiscent of a camera lens. If you could take "Samantha" out.. it would probably work even better. But, once again, proportion and placement is key. Strip away the unnecessary, keep it simple.
G13Design's concept is the exact direction you need to go, it very clean and professional looking.
The only criticism I have is I think photography shouldnt go past Coulter, to keep a fluid balance of the lettering.
saw that after... but for 60 secs.. what do ya want? Can't do every thing for em...
: P
You basically did, you should just send them a bill
LOL... sometimes I can't help myself. :P
Allow me to stir the soup with my own spoon.
I would use a serif font and all caps on "photography" and see how it looks.
Thanks ;)
said that they had to stick to the font in the details...
Oh, I thought they were "still looking for a font". I didn't get it right.
I think i have seen this logo with the same typography and circle here before. It was not good then and I don't think it works now.

You are right.
start from scratch
Please only post one logo at a time. It's not possible to comment on so many all at the same time and the rating doesn't work at all this way.
I like what G13 did with this. But for this industry where there is so much competition and focus on styles (excuse the pun), how does this logo stand out from the others? As a designer, I would ask myself if the client specializes in a certain type or style of photography? Who is the target audience? A wedding photographer would have a different looking logo that a kids photographer. Yes? Think about it and let your creative juices flow.
